Summary: I'm a San Francisco-based writer, who's in the process of transitioning from female to...something. For simplicity's sake, I say I'm transsexual. More accurately, I'm non-binary and don't mind answering questions. Unrepentantly gay (as in, homosexual; also frequently happy). Also autistic. More on that later.

Professionally: I work in the legal sector, handling client relations and managing a team of content writers, with a little bit of web development and coding thrown in. Yes, I have a JD degree. No, I'm not a lawyer and hope to keep it that way. Formerly a tech journalist with a Barcelona company and a startup stooge (this is San Francisco, after all). I'm out as trans at work, meaning my coworkers call me Andrew (AJ's more of a nickname; same for Rue) and use male pronouns.

Personally: I'm a competitive figure skater of 20+ years, take an advanced tumbling class where I try not to break my neck each week, and am training en pointe in ballet, plus dabbling in ballroom and hip hop. I'm a board member for an LGBT nonprofit threatre group and am currently working with a publisher to bring my first novel (a YA French dystopian with LGBT characters) to the shelves, hopefully by late 2013/early 2014. Speaker of Hebrew and French/Quebeçois. Able to respond to asks in basic Bangla, German, Spanish, Catalan, Portuguese, Italian, Swedish, and Arabic as well.
